HOA Software Notes:
- Install HOAFUN or HOAENTER before installing VSTAR, otherwise VSTAR installation will not be successful.
- Do not run VSTAR directly from VSTARSYS directory; run from C:\WINDOWS, C:\DOS, or copy VSTAR.EXE to any other directory of your choice and run it from there. If you do not do this, VSTAR program files will be lost and you will have to reinstall VSTAR.
- Note that the VSTAR ARCHIVE list is in order of Designation, not in order of Star Name, and that there is more than one screen full of ARCHIVE stars: scroll down using the down-arrow key to see more of the ARCHIVE list.
- VSTAR will write the VSTAR.LOG file, plus any other files you specify when prompted to "Save results to a file?", to whatever directory you were in when you started VSTAR from the DOS prompt.
- If you run VSTAR from Windows 3.1, then the log and save files will end up in C:\WINDOWS by default, unless you change the location.
- If you run VSTAR from Windows 95 or later, then the log and save files will end up in C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP by default, unless you change the location.
- If you run VSTAR from Windows, we suggest you change the working directory of the VSTAR.EXE program that you run from (using the control panel in Win3.1 or the "properties" function in Win95.
- VSTAR, HOAFUN, and HOAENTER will not run from a network drive. These programs must be installed on each local C: drive in the directory C:\AAVSOPRG\VSTARSYS, C:\AAVSOPRG\HOAFUN, and C:\AAVSOPRG\HOAENTER, respectfully. No site license is required for such multiple installations, other than purchase of your one original HOA software set.
