Important notice for VSTAR owners:

Never run Vstar from within the C:\AAVSOPRG\VSTARSYS directory. Doing so will result in a loss of program files, and you will have to reinstall VSTAR.

If you run VSTAR from a windows navigator, run the program C:\(path to directory\VSTAR (do not run the program C:\AAVSOPRG\VSTARSYS\VSTAR.EXE).

If you set up a shortcut (icon) the command line should be, for example, C:\WINDOWS\VSTAR.EXE and the working directory can be anything except C:\AAVSOPRG\VSTARSYS.

If you intend to save the results of your VSTAR sessions, you mat find that the path directory is a bad place for this, because it is already full of system files. In such a case, you should establish a separate directory for your VSTAR sessions and use that as your working directory.

The simplest approach would be to use the C:\AAVSOPRG parent directory as your working directory. If you wish, you may copy VSTAR.EXE into your working directory and run the program from there.

The VSTAR installation program places a copy of VSTAR.EXE in a system path directory, C:\Windows for example, because C:\WINDOWS is a default path in your system.

If you run VSTAR from a DOS prompt, you will have no trouble running VSTAR as long as VSTAR.EXE is in the default directory C:\WINDOWS or as long as VSTAR.EXE is located in any other directory that is included in your path statement.
